Ginkaku-Ji Temple

Called the Temple of the Silver Pavilion, this Buddhist temple was built as a place of rest and solitude for the Shogun.

The founder, whose grandfather built the Golden Pavilion, intended to cover the main structure in silver, but the plan was never carried out.
